WHITELEY, Mildred – Of Flint Township, age 86, peacefully passed away into the hands of God Tuesday, March 9, 2021.
A graveside service will be held 3pm Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Mildred was born in Athens, Alabama on August 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Maples and Gladys (Schlosser) Andrews. On January 19, 1956, she married Charles M. Whiteley in Wayne, Michigan. Mildred was a woman of faith, generous to the core and faithful to her church, West Court St. Church of God. She loved watching birds, gardening, and spending time reading. She devoted her life to teaching and church.
Surviving are children, Stephen (Carol), Deborah Culver and Jeffrey (Kathleen);
Grandchildren, Sean Whiteley, Leah (Jonathan) Rupp, Kaitlin (Chance) Morphew, Kristyne (Cody) Jackson, Annelise (Ben) Buchanan, Melissa (Caleb) Rutan, Becky (Jack) Davis, and Nick (Ashley) Bobbitt;
And 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, grandson, David Keasler, sister, Sarah Andrews and son-in-law, John Culver.
