Terri Daly, local business owner, loving wife and mother of five, died peacefully last Sunday August 16th in Flint, Michigan surrounded by family and loved ones. She was 68.
A lifetime Flint area resident, Terri spent two decades leading the accounting and office management duties at her father’s tool and die business, Precision Industries on E. Court Street, before taking it over and guiding it through fast-changing and challenging times. A graduate of the University of Michigan-Flint and Beecher High School (class of 1976), Terri retired in 2024 to focus on her family and travel.
Terri was an avid quilter and member of the Genesee Star Quilters Guild. Her skill at the sewing machine led to countless creations that adorned the households (and bodies) of those she held dear, including the Davison High School Band, commemorating milestones or just keeping them warm.
Known foremost for her kindness and generosity of spirit, Terri welcomed all around her with understanding and forgiveness—celebrating differences and cherishing love over conflict always. She loved animals as much as she loved people, helping many find forever homes that would often turn out to be her own. Collector of glass art, voracious reader of murder mysteries, consummate gardener, and avid Bob Dylan fan, Terri’s big heart and open arms will be missed by all but felt forever by those who knew and loved her.
Terri was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Wahneta Toll, and is survived by her brother and sister, Bill and Toni Toll, respectively, as well as her loving husband Larry Daly, their four children and their significant others, Kelly Daly & Ferris Nicolais, Eric Daly & Saoirse Jensen, Ryan Daly & Tori Dennis, and Caitlin Daly Christian & Jake Christian, and her stepson Ian Daly. Terri also leaves behind nieces and nephews who were part of her loving family, as well as her quilting best friend Cindy Willey.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the Hurley Medical Center Emergency Department and ICU staff, representatives of the Gift of Life for helping Terri fulfill her wishes, and Pastor Scott Sharp for being there in the time of need.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 23rd at Swartz Funeral Home (1225 W. Hill Rd., Flint, Michigan 48507). Visitation will be from 12pm-2pm, with services immediately after. For those who wish to make a donation in her honor, the Daly family recommends the Humane Society of Genesee County.
