Hellems, Robert James of Davison, died Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on April 14, 1957, the son of Bobbie James and Dorothy May (Phillips) Hellems. He married Alecia Butler on November 6, 2004, in Burton, Michigan. Robert worked as a truck driver for 10 years before starting his own business, Robert Hellems Trucking, Inc. Robert was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a kind, soft spoken, and proud man.
Robert is survived by his wife of 21 years, Alecia; step-son, Randy Royer; granddaughter, Laila Royer; sisters, Donna and Doug Payne, Diana Upper; niece and nephews, Robert Bennett, Kelly and Joe Wyne, Jacob and Tammy Upper; lifelong fishing buddy, Kip Barnard; co-worker and friend, Zach McGowan; and many dear cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Gerry Upper. |
