Dexter Lee Thompson was born on February 10, 1959, in South Bend Indiana to Matt Thompson and Ruth Mae Thompson. In December of 1963, the family moved to Flint, MI where he has been a longtime resident. Dexter attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and is an Alumni of Powers Catholic High School. On June 17, 1996, Dexter married his longtime love, Debra Guise Thompson. Dexter was a long-time employee of Career Alliance as a supervisor of facilities management. He enjoyed watching horror movies, wrestling and appreciated a good meal. His favorite thing to do was laugh and spend time with his loved ones. They shared a bond that is forever endless.
He leaves to cherish his memory: special friend, Carrie Trent and five children. His son, Dexter Lee Thompson II, four daughters, Shireta Awanna Guise, Rhisheda Lynn Guise, Sanedra Diane Thompson, and Shanice Mone Thompson. Seven grandchildren, Kiere Arie McGee, Jacobey Elijah Rice, Armani Ahmad Smart, Ariel Monyae McGee, Madison Michelle McGee, Brooklyn Emiyah Johnson and Nova Diane. Three sisters, Melanie (Kime) Haywood, Shyron Thompson and Pymaler Thompson, Four brothers, Adaraian (Sharon) Thompson, Matthew (Stephanie) Thompson, Erik Thompson and Dominique Thompson, Sister-in-law, Traci Thompson; a host of nieces and nephews and life-long friends, Pete Roberts, Luther Hill, and Lifus Ferguson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Guise Thompson; Father, Matt Thompson; Mother, Ruth Mae Thompson; Brothers, Mercius Emil Thompson, Kim Victor Thompson, and Nathan Thompson.
