Paul Joseph VanBuren – Of Burton, age 66, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026, at his residence.
Memorial service will be held from 4-7pm Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Paul was born in Syracuse, New York on August 30, 1959, the son of Howard and Elizabeth (Oatman)VanBuren Jr.
Previously married to Jennifer Love and was recently engaged to Sandi Gillard.
He worked in the restaurant business for a very long time.
He loved spending time with his daughter Joelle. She was the Apple of his eye. He spoke of her often. He touched the hearts of many people with his selfless attitude. He played guitar, banjo, ukulele, and mandolin in his spare time. He also enjoyed cooking and making homemade jewelry. He loved salmon fishing while living in central NY.
Paul worked as a trucker for a long time, but cooking was his passion.
Surviving are his daughter Joelle VanBuren, Sandi Gillard (fiancé), Elizabeth VanBuren (mother). Brother Howard (and Suzann) VanBuren. Twin sister Paula (Darryl) House, and brother Jeffery VanBuren, many nephews and nieces and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Howard VanBuren.
