HEMPEL, Carl Arthur – Of Grand Blanc, age 86, died Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
Carl was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 17, 1935, the son of the late Erich and Ada (Diment) Hempel.
On June 12, 1954 he married Ernestine Wolfgang and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2018.
He was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church.
He loved woodworking, bird watching and traveling.
Mr. Hempel was employed by GM for 38 years.
Surviving are sons, David (Mari) Hempel and Carl Hempel;
grandchildren, Matthew Aurand, Elizabeth (Adam) Mitteer and Erin (Rico) Turner;
great-grandchildren, Nina, Natalya and Natasha Turner.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen; brothers, John, Rudy and Erich “Moe”.
