OGLESBY, Virginia Ruth - Of Whitesburg, Georgia, age 83, died Thursday, December 19, 2024 in Georgia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1pm Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Visitation 11am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Virginia was born in Flint, Michigan on May 8, 1941, the daughter of Irving and Nadine Kline (Bailey). Virginia married James J. Oglesby on August 21, 1965 in Flint. Virginia worked at GM for 31 years, retiring in 1992. When she was not busy working or raising her family, enjoyed watching Humming birds. She loved to play a little Bingo!
Surviving are children; Katherine & husband Tom Thompson of Georgia; Lisa Oglesby and her fiancé Mike Palasty of Burt; James, Jr. and his wife Sharon Oglesby of Clio;
grandchildren, Ryan & Troy Herline, Kristin Oglesby, Courtney & Jimmy Oglesby and Hannah Presnell;
10 great-grandchildren;
sister, Florence Medling of Burton;
and her 2 beloved dogs, whom she treasured, Susie Q. and Rosie.
Mrs. Oglesby was predeceased by her husband, James in 2001, her brothers, David and Buck Kline; sisters, Carol Lamoreaux and Barbara Robinson and her parents, Irving & Nadine Kline.
