PEEK, Fay E. III - Of Flushing, age 72, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Chesaning Comfort Care.

A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,

Reverend Harold K. Polk officiating.

Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Humane Society of Genesee County directed to the Santa Dog Fund.

Memorial visitation 3-8pm Friday and 10am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Fay was born in Flint on January 28, 1946, the son of the late Fay Peek Jr, and Alice Peek. On July 9, 1966, he married Beverly Lapham. Fay served as a Police Officer in Flint, starting in 1967, he rose through the ranks and was promoted to Police Chief from 1988-91, then served as Chief of Police in Flushing from 1991 to 2006. Fay was on the Board of the Humane Society of Genesee County. He was past President of F.O.P. Lodge 126, President of Genesee County Chiefs of Police Association. He was a graduate of FBI National Academy.

Surviving are wife, Beverly;

son, Stephen (Carmen);

daughter, Kristin (Arron) Sutherland;

grandchildren, Darby, Carson, Parker, and Karlee Sutherland;

brother, Thomas (Tammy);

sister, Patricia (Robert) Ball;

many nieces and nephews and several special friends.
