PONSETTO, Mary Catherine - Of Grand Blanc, died Friday, August 20, 2021 at Brookdale Memory Care.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 6336 Roberta Street, Burton,
Reverend Father Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Blessed Sacrament Church.
Visitation 5-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Thursday at church until the time of the Mass. The family requests anyone attending the visitation or service to please wear a mask.
On the 6th of June, Mary Catherine was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Adelaide (McMahon) Newcomb. Mary Catherine was a faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a volunteer for St. Joseph/Genesys Hospital for 46 years. She was also the former President of the Dental Auxiliary. Mary Catherine loved to travel, particularly to Ireland. Her Irish blood and God was her foolproof protection against all. Mary Catherine loved her family, children and grandchildren. She would provide comfort and support wherever she could. If you knew Mary Catherine, you know that somehow she is home and “still dancin”.
Surviving are husband, Anthony Ponsetto;
Daughters, Mary (Kelly) Zook of Chicago and Kate (Mark) Piper of Grand Blanc;
Sons, Tony Ponsetto of Des Plaines and John Ponsetto of Indiana;
Grandchildren, Ian, Madeline, Max and Sara;
Sister, Carolyn Ann Goldfarb;
And many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas, Joseph, and Margaret Eileen.
