GAWNE, Marlene L. – of Flint, MI, age 87, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors 1-7 PM Monday, May 22, 2023 and 11 AM-12 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in Marlene’s memory.
Marlene was born in Bay City, MI on July 15, 1935, daughter of the late Homer and Mildred Davis. She married Robert Justin Gawne on December 25, 1953. Marlene graduated in 1954 from Handy High School in Bay City, MI. She was a long-time member of the Foresters Insurance Group. Marlene liked bowling, tending to her rose bushes and gardening. She really enjoyed being a Girl Scout troop leader for many years.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Robert Gawne; 4 children, Julie Kimball, Danny Gawne, David (Cynthia) Gawne and Cathy (Royce) Wolfe; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Mildred Davis; and 3 brothers, Robert Davis, Guy Davis and Jerry Davis.
