BISHOP, Thomas Clark– of Burton, MI, age 82, passed away on January 21, 2022. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place in the summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Tom was born in Flint, MI on March 28, 1939, son of the late Paul and Alice (Derosha) Bishop. Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married Delhia Beaver on June 27, 1987. Tom graduated from Flint Central High School and then attended trade school to become a master electrician. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #948. Tom worked for the Bentley School District doing maintenance and electrical work. He was known throughout the schools as “Mr. Huff N’ Puff.” Tom was an avid painter and a member of the Flint Institute of Arts. He was commissioned for his paintings by different businesses over the years. Tom enjoyed spending his time fishing and camping. His fondest memories were him and Delhia taking a drive for the day wherever the road would take them. He especially enjoyed the times he spent with his great-grandchildren, Piper and Reese. Tom had a special love for his beloved dog, Tootie.
Tom is survived by his wife, Delhia; children, Thomas (Barb) Bishop, Thomasa Allen-Bair, Shelley Taylor, Lorri Love-Bishop, Bradley (Jutta) Bishop, Kenneth Brittian, and Cheryl (Fiancé Jeremy Hoover) Tuttle; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sister and one son.
