Siegel, Mary Ann of Flushing, age 83, died at home on Saturday, August 6, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love and care, by her dedicated daughter, Brooke who rarely left her side. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mary Ann was born in Woodson, Arkansas on June 28, 1939, the daughter of Euel and Blonnie (McGhee) Ballentine. She married the love of her life, Johnny Siegel and spent many wonderful years together until he passed away on December 26, 2016. They had one daughter, Brooke who they adored and was the center of their lives. Mary Ann worked for the Genesee County and City of Flint Courts as a Court Reporter, where she met many of her longtime friends.
She is survived by her daughter Brooke Danielle Siegel; sister Margie and her husband Dan Maynard, brother Donald and his wife Patricia Ballentine; many nieces, nephews, cousins, including her husband’s cousins, Gloria and her husband Milton Siegel, Vera and her husband Barry Pearl, Susan and her husband Gordon Parnes; great-nieces and nephews, many dear friends and her sweet cat Willow.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, gourmet cooking, and an occasional trip to the casino. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother and known by multiple generations of nieces and nephews as the favorite Aunt (Bic). She had a huge heart and was kind to everyone. She will be remembered with love.
