MURPHY, DELBERT LEE “Murph” – Of Flushing, age 79, died Sunday, March 6, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Father Andrew Czajkowski officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring, may make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Delbert was born in Flint, Michigan on April 19, 1942, the son of the late Donald and Virginia (Sylon) Murphy.
Del worked for GM and retired in 1999.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and garage sales. Most of all he loved being with his family and attending his grandchildren’s numerous sporting events.
On September 6, 1974 he married Patricia Pelland in Flint.
Surviving are wife, Patricia;
5 sons, Shawn (Shelley), Marcus, Richard (Jodi), John (Kim) and Shane (Heather);
10 grandsons; 8 granddaughters; 2 great-granddaughters;
brother, Gary (Bennie);
brother-in-law, Dave (Sheila); and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert and daughter-in-law, Debbie.
