Age 86, of Flint, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. The funeral service will take place 12:00 noon on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services; 1194 E. Mt. Morris Rd. Mt. Morris, Michigan 48458. Pastor Larry Nelson officiating with cremation to follow. Jeanine’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm; and on Friday morning from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial contributions to a charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jeanine was born at the family home in Clio on February 17, 1940; she is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur and Estella (Morse) Lowell. She married the love of her life, Roger Zimmer on October 20, 1962, in Mt. Morris. Sadly, Roger preceded her in death on November 3, 2018. Together they loved spending time with their family and friends and traveling. Jeanine worked at Kmart in Beecher, and O’Toole’s Family Restaurant for a short time. She was a brilliant seamstress who made her children’s clothing and made costumes at her brother’s costume shop. She was a Girl Scout Leader; and a long-time member of the Red Hat Society, Auto City Eagles Aerie 3485 Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge. In her free time, Jeanine loved clogging and square dancing, sewing, painting, crafting, building furniture, bowling, playing in her Bunco Club and Card Club. She also enjoyed photography, gardening, fishing in Black Lake with her friends in Canada, and going to the Krapohl Senior Center in Mt. Morris.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gerry (Linda) Zimmer, Maria (Jon Arnold) Cannon, and Debbie (Larry Ostrander) Decoe; nine grandchildren: Jason Zimmer, Lindsey (Brian) Newland, Aleshia (Tom) Snyder, Brad (Alicia) Decoe, Brian (Amanda) Decoe, Shaun Decoe; Elba Ostrander, Nicole Ostrander, Zach Arnold; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; two siblings: Allen (Linda) Lowell and Don (Kathy Parton) Lowell; numerous beloved nieces, nephews; and many other family members and friends.
Jeanine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; brothers: Bud and Randy Lowell; son-in-law, Steve Cannon; niece, Lisa Lowell.
