BAKER, Roland Douglas – of Clio, age 78, died Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his residence. Honoring Roland’s wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time. Inurnment will take place at Flint Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
Roland was born November 15, 1942 in Bel Air, Maryland to the late Charles and May (Watts) Baker Sr. He grew up in Aberdeen, Maryland and attended school in Belair, Maryland. On April 20, 1968 he married Ruth Smith at St. Francis of Assisi in Flint, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 1996, Roland worked for GM-Buick on the assembly line at Plant 36 with 31 years of service. Once he retired, he worked for the Flint Auto Auction. Roland was a member of the Corunna Road Baptist Church where he served as an Usher. He love to go hunting and camping.
Surviving are: Wife of 53 years, Ruth Baker; Sons, Dave (Angie Branda-Hardy) Baker; Doug (Carmen) Baker; Grandchildren, Zachary Baker, Nicole Baker, Nathanial Baker, Dylan Baker, Annabelle Baker, Gabrielle Baker, Brianna Baker, Alison Hardy, Paige Hardy; Great Grandchildren, Bellamie Baker, Isabella Molina, Amarah Baker; Siblings, Hazel Shockley, Barbara Perry, Kenneth (Linda) Baker; several nieces and nephews.
