ZAPFE, Matthew – of Burton, age 51, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Daryl Taylor officiating. Interment immediately following in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to National Hemophilia Foundation, in Matthew’s memory.
Matthew was born in Flint, MI on May 30, 1970, son of Edward and Mary Lou (Johnson) Zapfe. He graduated from Bentley High School in 1988. Matt enjoyed classic cars and his 2002 Trans Am, which was his pride and joy. He loved his job at Meijer in Davison where he worked as a door greeter and loss prevention. Matt enjoyed spending time at the shooting range. He loved his Siamese cat, Callie, who was always there to greet him upon his arrival home. Spending time with his family and his daughter, Cynthia, were the most important things in his life.
Matthew is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Nanette Risch; parents, Edward and Mary Lou Zapfe; brother, Andy and his wife Angie Zapfe; and many other loving family members and friends.
