Mr. Grantner 75 passed away Saturday April 22, 2023, at his home with his family at his side following a lengthy illness. He was born in Flint on September 23, 1947, to the late Albert & Barbara (Kupres) Grantner. He married the former Mary Lee Edgar on September 25, 1976, at Sacred Heart Church in Flint, she survives him. Gary was retired from General Motors and Robinson Industries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Mary, their children James & Jenn Grantner, Jennifer & Wayne Henstreet, Mark & Amanda Grantner and Matthew & Yedda Grantner; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; his sister Dolores Vanitelt and a sister-in-law Laura Grantner. He was preceded in death by his brothers James Grantner and Ronald Grantner.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday April 29, 2023, at 11 am with Rev. Fr. Marcel Portelli presiding with cremation to follow. Family will greet family and friends at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel on Friday from 2 to 8 pm and a rosary service at 7 pm. On Saturday Gary will lie in state at the church from 10am on until time of Mass. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel.
