GIFFORD, Richard L., Jr. – of Millington, age 82, died on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned.
Richard was born on June 7, 1943, in Flint, Michigan. He married his high school sweetheart, Joann Banks on February 16, 1963. Together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage before Joann’s passing on February 20, 2020. Richard served honorably as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He was a master plumber and pipefitter throughout his life, retiring from the Flint UA Local #370. Richard enjoyed spending time outdoors – hunting and fishing. Above all, he loved being with his family, and his dogs, Bella and Charlie.
Left to cherish his memory are: Son, Richard Gifford III; Daughter, Carrie (Steve) Zubek; Grandchildren: Dustin (Jessica) Koeltzow, Tanner (Monica) Koeltzow, Katelinn (Michael) Boshell, Shane Gifford, Stephanie (Josh) Baesel, Krista Zubek, and Paige Gifford; Great grandchildren: Angelina, Jaxon, Andrew, Westin, Boston, Lily Jo, Kynzlee, Harper, and Maesen. Richard was preceded in death by: Grandchildren: Taylor and Quade Gifford; Father, Richard Lee Gifford, Sr.; Mother, Thelma Kida; Stepfather, Frank Kida.
