JOSEPH, Suzanne - It is with the heaviest of hearts and profound shock that we announce the unexpected passing of beloved wife, mother, and Nana, Suzanne Joseph, on November 30th, 2025, in Grand Blanc, MI, at the age of 69.

Suzanne was the devoted wife of David Joseph for 48 incredible years; the beloved mother of Ryan (Stephanie) Joseph, Marta Joseph, and Matthew (Allison) Joseph; and the cherished Nana of grandchildren Bella, Erica, Sydney, Julian, Samuel, Charlotte, and Elouise. Suzanne’s love did not discriminate, as she was a ferocious defender of her four-legged friends as well, serving as Mom, Nana, and Great-Grand Nana to her fur-babies: Sullivan, Hattie Mae, Maddox, Koda, and Toby (x2).
Suzanne was born on October 20th, 1956, in Flint, MI, to Frank and Donna Marta, who preceded her in death. Suzanne is survived by her siblings Justine (Kenneth) Mushall, Micky (Ken d.2022) Makuch, and twin brother Stephen Marta. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews Jodi (Kenneth) Dunn, Christopher Mushall, Carrie Nelson, Eric (Amy) Mushall, Anthony (Judith) Jacob, Gina (Terry) Glavin, Holly (Tim) Higgerson & Jeff Holko. Many more “nieces/nephews” who all loved their “Aunt Sue”. Finally, she is survived by a sprawling circle of loving, loyal friends who became family, their number simply too vast to detail.
She grew up in Flint, MI, graduating from Bentley High School in 1974. Suzanne was a focused and determined professional who dedicated over 40+ years to the banking field, rising from teller to Regional Vice President at PNC Bank before her retirement. Her commitment extended beyond the office, as many former colleagues became cherished members of her expansive chosen family. Beyond work, Suzanne was a talented seamstress, a creative force, and a true ray of hope, sending handcrafted, heartfelt cards that served as her unique way of sharing her warmth with the world.
Suzanne was the heart of her family—the steady center of their world, their encourager, and their safe place. She was known for her incredible gift for lifting others up, especially those who felt unseen or unheard. She had a soft spot for the underdog and believed in people long before they believed in themselves—one of her quiet superpowers. Her profound devotion to her family, her kindness, and her grace actively shaped the lives of her children and grandchildren. Suzanne was a force of nature whose infectious energy and vibrant presence instantly raised the decibels and the spirits in any room, ensuring that joy was always at the center of the conversation.
Suzanne was, without question, the absolute center of our universe. We all happily and securely orbited around her boundless love and grace. She was the foundation, the gravity, and the brilliant light of our family. Now that her orbit is complete, we are left with a quiet, profound ache, but her light still holds us together. Her extraordinary kindness, her quiet superpowers, and her unwavering grace are the tales we will continue to share, ensuring that Mom, the heart of our family, remains the brightest, most central chapter in our book, forever.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to: Briarwood Veterinary Hospital, 8213 S Saginaw Rd, Grand Blanc, MI 4839, to continue Suzanne’s spirit of helping those who need it most.
