MADDEN, Norma Louise (nee Steiner) – formerly of Burton, MI, age 97, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, in the company of her family at her home in Flushing, MI. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private, family Celebration of her Life will be held on a later date.
Norma was born in Flint, MI on September 15, 1925, daughter of the late Theodore and Sarah (Palmer) Steiner. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Roy E. Madden in 1944 and they remained a devoted team for 64 years until his death in 2008. Norma worked for the Michigan Secretary of State offices in Flint until 1986 at which time she retired to pursue her love of traveling, spending time with family and friends at Torch Lake, and enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Norma is survived by 2 sons, Dennis (Kay) Madden of Otisville, MI and Gary (Leslie) Madden of Grand Blanc, MI; daughter, Connie (Richard) Mark of Flushing, MI; 8 grandchildren, Karen (Mike) Schultheis, Michelle (Mark) Busch, Amy Moody (Ken Bales), Michael (Carol) Collins, Kelly (Paul) Hilcoff, Lauren (Eric) Gasper, Dayna (Jeremiah) Britton and Danny (Alessandra) Mark; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Sarah Steiner; husband, Roy Madden; daughter, Nancy Madden; brother, Clifford Steiner; sister, Marlene Howe; granddaughter, Denise Madden; 2 grandsons, Jeff Madden and Douglas Boyer.
Norma’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care she received in her final days from Bristol Hospice - Mid Michigan, especially Audra and Shawna.
