HIXENBAUGH, Norma Adele – Of Grand Blanc, age 91, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Maple Place.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, September 11, 2021
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Susan Lidums officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery to follow.
Visitation 3pm-8pm Friday, September 10, 2021 at the funeral home and 10am Saturday until the time of service.
Contributions may be made to Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church.
Norma was born in Flint, Michigan on November 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Alvin and Ruth Linnea (Nord) Johnson-Kelly. On May 13, 1950, she married Dallas Hixenbaugh at Salem Lutheran Church in Flint and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1974. Norma was employed with St. Joseph Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church in Burton. Besides her family, Norma’s whole world was choir, sewing and volunteering for women’s group and Young at Heart.
Surviving are daughters, Connie (Rick) Sumner, Cathy (Kevin) Vejnovich, Cindy, (Marlon) Meganck, Casey (Brad) Lowe, Carla (Tom) Goulet, Carrie (Edward) Card and Carolyn (Brad) McDougall;
And 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Johnson; mother, Ruth Linnea Kelly and step-father, Edward Kelly.
