David Walter Blauet, 73, of Lapeer, died Tuesday November 29, 2022. He was born June 11, 1949 in Detroit to parents Rudolf and Marion (Trost) Blauet. Dave married Linda Mary Furton on December 23, 1972 in Grosse Pointe Farms.
Mr. Blauet was a beloved teacher for Lapeer Community Schools, officially “retiring” in 2009. He started teaching at the elementary level, then junior high and worked many years as a parapro during his retirement. At home, Dave was an avid reader, especially anything by author James A. Michener. For a bit of a home-body, he was quick to run any errand to the grocery store or spending some time looking around Home Depot. Mr. Blauet cherished his family with a special love for his grandchildren.
Dave is survived by his wife of 50 years: Linda, sons: Jeffrey Blauet, Jason (Cheyenne) Blauet, Brian Blauet, grandchildren: Vonna, Vanessa, Marissa, Miranda and Rowan, siblings: Doris Blauet, Paul (Cindi) Gliesman and sister-in-law: Cindy Gliesman. He was preceded in death by siblings: Ronald, Esther and his twin Nancy Blauet, Bill Gliesman, his mother: Marion Blauet, father & step-mom: Rudolf and Ericka Blauet.
Cremation has been entrusted with Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. A memorial gathering will be from 12:00-2:00pm Saturday December 10, 2022 at Muir Brothers. Then a formal memorial service at 3:00pm that same day (12/10/22) *at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lapeer, officiated by Pastor Jared Nies. The family will receive friends *at the church from 2:30pm – the service.
