Mary Mavis Easley passed away Friday afternoon, April 16, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Mary was born July 7, 1938 in Turrell Arkansas, one of eleven children, to the late George and Myrtle (Steeley) Weston.
At the age of 17, Mary married the love of her life, Carl Easley on December 26, 1955 and they moved to Michigan. Mary learned at a young age what it meant to put in a hard days work. She worked hard at everything she did. After working a variety of jobs, she hired into General Motors in 1978 and worked there until her retirement in 1999.
Mary had a way of making everyone feel comfortable with her southern accent and charm. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking large meals for her family, spending time with her grandkids (who all adored her) and going on long car rides with her husband Carl. She had a very generous heart. When someone entered her home, her first question was "Are you hungry?", or "Can I get you something to drink?" Mary was a long time member of Bristol Road Church of Christ and considered its members a special part of her family. She had a very strong Christian faith and practiced her faith everyday by showing kindness to others and giving to those in need. Mary had a special bond with her daughter Lutishia, who provided years of loving care to her mother.
Mary is survived by her sons: Ronald Wayne, Greg (Mary), Roger, Jeffrey Easley and daughter Lutishia (David) Hertzburg, grandchildren: Nathan, Steven, Samatha, Katrina, Jeffery and Nikki, great grandchildren: Evelyn, Taylor, Ember, Yvonne, Cecilia, Julissa, Harper, Syris, sisters: Artie McGlawn and Edie Allen, sister-in-laws: Margaret Erickson and Melba Alexander. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl, great-grandaughter Brooklyn, her parents, her sisters, Aldene King, Dorothy MacGee, Ruie Harmon and Betty Lewis, her brothers, Carthell, GS (Bill), Harold and Aaron Weston.
A gravesite burial will be performed on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00pm. |
