ABRAHAM, David Richard – of Davison, MI, age 78, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Interment, with Military Honors, immediately following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Dave’s memory.
Dave was born in Lansing, MI on February 14, 1943, son of the late Edward and Julia (Rashid) Abraham. He married “Cooky” Lillian Benjamin on January 25, 1964 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Flint, MI. Dave proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. He retired from General Motors in 2002 after 39 years of service. Dave was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, past president of St. John’s Men’s Club, organized and help run the St. John’s Basketball Youth Group, he was a part of the baking assembly line for the Kalachy Bake, chairman of St. John’s Quiz Bowl Fundraiser and a member of Ducks Unlimited Sebewaing, MI chapter. He enjoyed duck hunting, watching U of M college football, Detroit Red Wings hockey and spending time with his friends and family on Saginaw Bay.
Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years, “Cooky” Lillian Abraham; daughter, Teresa Abraham; sister, Nora Cooper; special nephew, Mike Goad; Godson, Ethan Goad; Goddaughter, Lauren Richardson; special nieces, Miranda Richardson and Tayler Richardson; special friends, Ken Brown and Stan Bobowski; special neighbors who are like family; many other loving nieces, nephews, other family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Julia Abraham; 2 brothers, John Abraham and Michael Abraham and special niece, Denise Richardson.
