George attended several schools throughout Michigan from Detroit, Owosso, and the Upper Peninsula. He attended Gladstone High School until they moved to Flint halfway through his Senior year. He graduated from Beecher High School, where he met and married the love of his life of 56 years Barbara Wisenbaugh. Their union would be blessed with four children. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Throughout high school, George was known for his love of cars, industrial arts, football, and fine arts. He served on the Beecher Fire Department and was a Lutheran Boy Pioneer Leader at Emanuel Church. He worked at Chevrolet down in the hole, Fischer Body, and Buick City as a machine repairman. He held several certificates for college and the skill trades. George loved spending time with family, friends, and deer hunting. In his free time, George was very active with his grandchildren, the Elf Khurafeh Tall Shriners, and the hospital drivers transporting children and families to the Shrine Hospital in Chicago.

Left to cherish his memory are his four children: Gracie and husband, Gerald Avery, Melisa Besko, and her baby panther Trip, George and wife, Jennifer Besko, and Tonyia and husband, Scott; seven grandchildren: Michael, Jake, Gillian, Logan, Allivia, George, and Scott; nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
