Erwin (Griz) Leroy Griswold was born to Delmer and Leila (Clemons) Griswold on May 1, 1931. He was an armed service veteran of the Korean War. He was an educator at Lakeville Community Schools for 36 years. He served as a teacher, principal, and as a central administrator. He spent his entire life living in Otisville and enjoyed time spent with life long friends and neighbors. He loved fishing trips to Canada, working in his yard, and having coffee uptown with the guys. He was active in his community in a variety of organizations including being a member of the Otisville United Methodist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children Sue (Chet) Folger, Jean (Bob) Keller, Mark (Calinda) Griswold, Michelle (Skip) McQueen, and Matt Griswold. Stepchildren: Edward (Tina) Barkley, John (Terese) Barkley, Jim (Gaye) Barkley, and David Barkley. He loved his grandchildren Matthew (Sarah) Folger, Lauren (Frits) Sweeting, Andrew (Meg) Keller, Christopher Keller, Tyler Griswold, Trevor (Brandy) Griswold, Keagan McQueen, Tori Griswold, Kali McQueen, Joey Barkley, Ryan Barkley, Drew Dembeck, Alexandria (John) Polinice, Joshua Barkley, and Jacob Barkley. His great-grandchildren brought much joy to his life: Adeline and Penelope Folger, Helena and Cecelia Sweeting, Emma Griswold, and Michael and Makayla Polinice.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wives Margaret, Juanita, and Barbara; and brothers James, Larry (Tyke), and nephew Larry
A celebration of life is scheduled on his 90th birthday, May 1st, 2021 for family and friends |
