SWARTZ, Brenda – of Flint, Michigan, age 73, passed away on January 8, 2025. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Brenda was born in Flint, Michigan on December 14, 1951, daughter of Eugene and Vera Billey. She graduated from Davison High school in 1970 and obtained her master’s degree in psychology from Sangamon State University in Springfield, IL where she also achieved a Reiki master certification in alternative healing. She became an entrepreneur of her own business for several years named Serenity Place located in Springfield, IL on S. 2nd street. She recently retired from an administrative position for the State of Illinois in 2019 and then moved back to Davison, MI.
Brenda enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life including rock hounding, massage therapy, meditation, fountain building, listening to music, gardening, cooking, and much more. She loved her grandchildren and all her family very much.
She will be dearly missed by all.
Brenda is survived by her son, Jonathan (Ginny) Swartz, grandchildren, Arthur, Betsy, and Kaya Sloman Swartz, her brothers, Stuart and Graham (Kathy) Billey, her sister Marriane Billey, and dear loving friends Gail and Jan Smith.
She is predeceased by her son, Kevin Swartz, father of her children, Robert Swartz, and parents Eugene and Vera Billey.
The family would like to thank the staff of Briarwood Nursing and Rehab and Swan Hospice for their loving and attentive care during the last several months of her life.
