ABED, DAVID- age 67 of Grand Blanc, Michigan Passed away on May 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday June 8th at 1 pm at the Swartz Funeral Home. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.
Visitation will be held 4-8 pm Friday June 6 and 12-8 pm Saturday June 7 and 12 pm till the time-of-service Sunday, June 8, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial will also be held at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, 621 W. Long Lake Rd Troy Monday June 9, 2025, at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Durand Eagles Riders.
David was born on June 22, 1957, in Detroit Michigan, the son of Joseph and Mary (Clemons) Abed.
David graduated from Fraser High School in 1975, where he was a standout three sport athlete. He shined brightest on the baseball field, where he was named to the Michigan All State Team as a centerfielder and pitcher.
David married Christine Ann Ruth on May 16, 1981, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Roseville, Michigan. They met at Waffle House, married and had two beautiful boys. Joshua David Abed and Joseph Richard Abed.
David had a great career at General Motors spanning over 31 years, where he retired in 2009.
David loved all Detroit sports, especially Tigers Baseball and Lions Football. He loved and enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding, side by side riding, playing softball and his brand-new Silverado HD truck and Momentum Toy Hauler.
David was a member of the Eagles and the Moose. He belonged to the Southern Cruisers Riding Club and the Durand Eagle Riders.
Remaining to cherish David’s memory are his wife Chris, children, Joshua and Joseph, brothers and sisters, James Abed, Suzanne Clemons, Bonnie Goetz and Larry Abed, nieces and nephews, Daniel Abed, Lisa Abed, Andrew Abed, Jason Abed, Brian (Sheri)Wassom, and Karey (Patrick) Hartford, Paul (Angela) Goetz, Rachel Kilcher, David Abed and Kimberly Abed (Tony) and sister-in-law, Jean Ruth.
Preceding David in death are his parents, sister in-law Sharon (James) Abed.
