BAKER, Gail – Formerly of Flint Township, age 86, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Symphony of Linden.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Greg Henneman officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gail was born in Hazel Park, Michigan on May 9, 1935, the daughter of the late Carl and Jewell (Clark) Dahlberg.
On October 16, 1954 she married Leslie Baker, Sr. at Fenton Road Baptist Church in Flint.
She took care of 38 foster children from 1968-1976 with her husband, Leslie.
She enjoyed Bingo; but most of all loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are children, Leslie “Lee” (Cindy) Baker, Jr.,
Tim (Sandi) Baker,
Keith Baker and
Cheryl (Ed) Harshman;
grandchildren, Julie (Gary) Bemus, Kimberly (Jason) Reed, T.J. Baker, Melissa (Chris Bekofski) Baker, Natalie Harshman and Elaina Harshman;
great-grandchildren, Garrett (Taylor) Baker, Charlotte Bemus, Avery Bemus, Jaxon Reed, Benjamin Reed, Todd Baker and one soon to be great-grandson;
sister, Donna Thomann;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie, in 1992 and son, Scot, in 1964.
