Charlotte Emiliene Sturtz, age 84, of Goodrich, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Her Memorial Service will be held at 1PM Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Goodrich United Methodist Church in Goodrich, Michigan. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Pastor Joel Walther officiating. The family will receive visitors at 12:30PM in the church prior to the service.
Charlotte was born November 2, 1937 in Flint, Michigan to the late Emil and Carmela Basel. She grew up in Flint, graduating from Mandeville High School. She pursued a degree in nursing. Charlotte was a remarkable lady of many talents; a passionate artist with a wonderful sense of humor and a special affinity for animals. She was a devout Christian member of Goodrich United Methodist Church, studying the bible all her life and enjoyed being a Red Hat Lady.
Surviving are her beloved children, Mark Sturtz and Amber Sturtz, dearest sister Rosemary White, niece Susan White and nephew Bill White of Hampstead, Md. She is lovingly remembered by the children of her heart; daughters Malinda, Melissa, Marian and Carol; sons Rod and Randy; granddaughters Sarah and Christina; and grandson Zachary. Charlotte was blessed by many loving and cherished friends, especially Carole Hunt, Barb Mackie, Wanda Kohan and Shar Rogers. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Charles Basel, and brother-in-law Bernie White.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the countless healthcare workers who lovingly cared for Charlotte, and to the members of GUMC, whose unending encouragement was such a blessing.
Donations in her honor may be made to the Goodrich United Methodist Church or the Genesee County Humane Society.
