BYRD, Cynthia Ann - Of Linden, age 88, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at her residence.
Cremation has taken place and a private visitation and memorial service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home.

Cynthia was born in Flint on February 5, 1932, the daughter of Albra and Gwendolyn (Ross) Poland. Cynthia and Robert were wed in 1953 and spent 64 years together. Cynthia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be remembered for trying to make everything perfect for the kids. She started working at The Flint Journal in 1960, working as a secretary, and held numerous positions throughout her career when retiring in 1992 as the Executive Secretary to the Publisher. Cynthia also served as the Wide Awake Club's Aunt Judy for 15 years. She enjoyed many years in retirement, spending time with family, RV Trips and summers up at the East Tawas City Park Campground with her and Robert's beloved friends.
She is survived by her son, Cass (Suzannha) Byrd;
grandchildren, Ryan (Jesse) Byrd of Linden and Robert (Brandy) Byrd of Nolensville, TN;
great-grandchildren, Lilli, Lyla, Brayden and Kellan Byrd;
brother, Ross (Helen) Mitts of Flint;
sister-in-law, Jean Clapp of Metairie, LA;
and niece, Janine (David) Raffrey of Metairie, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on April 10, 2018 and son, Marc Byrd on August 9, 2018.
