Dennis A. Davis, age 80, of Gaines, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 starting at 12PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 3PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Interment will be held at a later date at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint. Dennis was born on November 24, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William & Myrtle Davis. He graduated from St. Michaels High School in Flint in 1960. He married the love of his life, Sharon Bates on June 13, 1964 in Flint, Michigan. He was employed with Kelsey Hayes where he worked in production for 20 years before retiring in 2004.
Dennis loved all things sports. He bowled, played sports including softball and golf. He also enjoyed watching Hallmark, action and war movies. Dennis and Sharon enjoyed vacations with their good friends, Marty & Roberta Kaul to Las Vegas, Canada and cruises. Above all his favorite memories where those spent with family especially watching the grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his two daughters, Andrea (David) Bennett and Denise Moore; four grandchildren, Kristina (Dan) Denike, Jeffrey Bennett, Joshua Moore and Jeremy (Zach Roquemore) Moore; four great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Garak, Sparrow, Lyra and Decklan; brother, William Davis; sisters, Maryann (Rueben) Gonzales, Dawn (Brad) Kelly, and Leslie Bowen. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews other dear family members..
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Doris Davis; brother, Gregory Davis and sister-in-law, Karen Davis.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and aides at Ascension and Compassus Hospice for their care and support of Dennis in addition to expressing their gratitude to family and friends.
