LINDSEY, Robert E. “Bob” – Of Burton, age 86, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Visitation 2 p.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
A private graveside service will be held at Flint Memorial Park.
Bob was born in Clyde, North Carolina on March 8, 1935, the son of Kyle and Lucy (Justice) Lindsey. Bob was employed with the Flint School Board of Education as a maintenance repairman. He loved to mow the grass and prided himself on his yard work. He worked on all different types of electronics. Bob also enjoyed spending time watching and feeding birds, squirrels and rabbits.
Surviving are wife of 67 years, Freda Lindsey;
children, Roberta Bennett, Donald (Lynn Luke) Lindsey, David (Theresa) Lindsey and Jeffrey Darrell(Michele)Lindsey;
9 grandchildren;
17 great-grandchildren;
4 great-great-grandchildren;
and siblings, Sue (John) Carter, Patricia Julian, Carroll (Brenda) Lindsey, Bill Lindsey and Gary (Patty) Lindsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kyle and Lucy Lindsey, brother, Ned Lindsey, great-great-grandson, Jack Wiggins and son-in-law, Andrew Bennett.
Those desiring may make contributions to McLaren Hospice.
