Sally Ann Jenkins

Born: 6/27/1934
Died: 3/19/2026
Age: 91
Community: Corunna, MI

Sally Ann Jenkins, age 91, of Corunna, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Shiawassee Hospice House. A loving wife, mother, aunt and “Nana” to all, she shared her love of baking, the MSU Spartans and the Cavalier Marching Band with anyone who would listen.

She was born on June 27, 1934, in Bay City to Bertrum “Bert” Duryee and Madelene (Wehner) Duryee, later Churchill. The youngest of three siblings, Sally graduated from St. Paul School in Owosso in 1952. She went on to pursue a career in healthcare, working as a practical nurse at the Durand Community and Owosso Memorial Hospitals. After her nursing career, she pursued her passion as a bridal consultant at Ralph’s in Owosso/Chesaning. She enjoyed family outings, time with her Birthday Club ladies and socializing at Chippewa Hills Country Club, Dutch Hollow and the Riverbend.

Sally was married to her beloved husband, Herb, for over 71 years and was a devoted mother to their daughter, Laurie. She became affectionately known as “Nana” to everyone she met after the birth of her granddaughter, Erica. From that point on, Herb and Sally devoted themselves wholeheartedly as chauffeurs, cheerleaders, personal chefs and mentors-not only to Erica, but to all of her friends-attending countless school performances, dance recitals and sporting events. Her most cherished role in recent years was becoming Great-Nana to her great-granddaughters, Lexi and Isla.

Sally was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, sharing an especially close and meaningful bond with nieces Jo (Scott) Ciatto and Jil (Rick) Duryee McCoy, who were like daughters to her.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Peggie (Duryee) Rhoten. She is survived by her husband, Herbert; brother, Gerald (Tonie) Duryee; daughter, Laurie (Rick) Haney; stepchildren, Teri (Darrell) Stock and Tom (Patricia) McIntosh; granddaughter, Erica (Kevin) Ross; and great-granddaughters, Alexandria Ross and Isla Ross.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer, with the date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Shiawassee Hospice House.
