HAGER, Johnnie – Of Flint, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, with family officiating.
Visitation 12 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Johnnie was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on March 27, 1938, the son of the late Bradley and Harriet (Scott) Hager.
On July 15, 1967 he married Virginia Staggs in Flint.
Johnnie enjoyed fishing and hunting every opportunity that he could.
Mr. Hager retired from GM Truck & Bus after 32 years of service.
Surviving are wife of 54 years, Virginia Hager;
7 children, Karen Hager LaFrance, Kathryn (Douglas) Harley, Johnnie Hager, Mistie (Jasen) Stevens, Curtis (Kim) Banks, George Banks Jr. and Sherri (Barry) Forster;
13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren;
brothers, James C. Hager of Flint, David Hager and Adrian Hager, both of Fenton;
sisters, Emma Lanzara of Florida and Donna Edwards of Linden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bradley and Harriet Hager; brothers, Ernest Hager, Douglas Hager and Alex Hager; sisters, Anna Mayhorn, Edith Rose and Ruby Brake.
