Gustav “Gus” Floyd Dietz, age 59 of Mayville passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Ascension Saint Mary, Saginaw with his family by his side.
He was born January 9, 1963 in Marlette, MI to the late Clayton E. and Ruth D. (Haas) Dietz. Gus was a graduate of Mayville High School with the Class of 1981. He earned his Associates from Baker College. Gus enjoyed everything outdoors including farming, ice fishing, snowmobiling, hunting and feeding the birds. He also enjoyed going to concerts, especially “The Who”. He loved his beagles and spending time with his family.
Gus is survived by his siblings, Karyl Lyn Dietz, Lois McGinley and Louise (Gary) Dietz-Barber; nieces and nephews, Stephen (Amy) McGinley, Matthew (Timothea) McGinley, Meridith (Alice) Latimer, Benjamin Latimer (Daniel Davis); and uncle, Don Petiprin.
He was most recently preceded in death by his aunt, Viola Petiprin.
Family will receive visitors from 3-7 PM on Friday, June 10, 2022 and from 11 AM until time of service on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Avram Funeral Home.
Gus’ funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Avram Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, Mayville Ambulance or the Family Discretionary Fund in care of Meridith Latimer.
