BAKA, Kathleen Jean (Price) – Of Burton, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2026. She is now at peace after a long battle with cancer.
Kathy was born and raised in Burton, Michigan. One of four children to Robert and Zelda Price (Moore). She graduated from Atherton High School, Class of 1968. Kathy married young and raised 3 boys, Daniel Forgie, Christopher (Brandy) Forgie and Brian (Brecque) Forgie. When the boys got older, Kathy decided to go back to college. She received a degree from Baker and got a job working with medical students for Michigan State University, retiring from there. In 2002, Kathy married Richard Baka and added 2 stepchildren to the family, Wesley and Kristy Baka. Kathy was strong in her faith and led a women’s ministry for over 20 years where she was able to share her faith with others. She enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. She will be remembered for the love that she had for her family and always wanting to plan for get togethers.
Surviving are her husband, Richard and her three boys.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sharon, brother, Michael and grandson, Dylan,
She leaves behind many loved ones, including 7 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.
Special thank you to Pastor Marvin and all of the hospice nurses/staff that made Kathy’s last days filled with love.
