IRISH, Robert “Bob” – of Clio, age 89, died Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Gross Assisted Living in Clio. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
Bob was born April 17, 1935, in Birch Run, to the late Alton and Genevieve (Batterbee) Irish. He was a hard worker who provided for his family through his employment at Buick, working as a short haul driver delivering colas and fresh produce, and General Motors as a spot welder. Bob later retired from General Motors in 1990 and continued to operate B&B Farms with his brother raising livestock and cash crops – together they generously supplied family and friends with produce from their garden. Bob was devoted to his family, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, playing cards, and working on puzzles. Christmas was his favorite holiday, and he cherished making memories with family while decorating the tree, making gingerbread houses, wrapping gifts, and setting up trains and Christmas villages under the tree. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care with dignity that Bob received during his stay at Gross Assisted Living in Clio, to Lisa Lindsay, CFNP, and Absolute Hospice.
Bob is forever remembered by: Daughters: Brenda McCulligh, Christine (LD) Hicks, and Cynthia (Darrell) Golden, all of Clio; Siblings: Pat (Ray) George of Cottonwood, AZ, Bill Irish, Jack Irish, Catherine Bennett, all of Clio; 5 Grandchildren: Amy Light, Jason Hicks, Darrell Golden, Jr., Jeffrey Golden, and Crystal White; 10 Great-Grandchildren; Many special nieces and nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Bob was preceded in death by: Parents, Alton and Genevieve; Ex-wife and Dear friend, Geraldine (Klatt) Jackson; Son, Baby Boy Irish; Many beloved family members and dear friends. |
