PREVO, Fred William – of Flint, Michigan, age 71, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Cremation has taken place A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026; at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48506, Rev. Fr. Roy Horning, celebrant. Inurnment with military honors will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 9:30 AM. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the Memorial Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, American Cancer Society, or Disabled American Veterans. Fred was born in Flint on August 6, 1954, the son of the late Lawrence and Patricia (Davis) Prevo. He married the love of his life, Barbara March, on July 26, 1975, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Flint.
Fred proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service as a Senior Chief E-8. Following his military career, Fred continued his strong work ethic in civilian life, working for 12 years with TRW, 5 years with Loomis Armored Car, and another 5 years with Flint Auto Auction. Fred was a member at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he enjoyed hot rod cars, playing pool, hunting, and dancing to all genres of music. Fred will be remembered by his family and friends as a hardworking man, a true “Jack of All Trades,” and someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Fred is survived by loving wife, Barbara, children, William (Kori) Prevo and Nicholas (Leanna) Prevo; 5 grandchildren, Brody (Kelly), Logan, Conan(Makenna), Jazlynn, Mason; 1 great-granddaughter Haven; siblings, Raymond (Susan) Prevo, Larry (Anna) Prevo, Loretta Hayden, Michael (Theresa) Prevo, Sherry Wolosonowich; brothers and sisters-in-law, Susan Prevo, Lester March, Diane (Doug) Hale, Debra (Andrew) Card, Sharon Routly; the mother of three of his grandchildren, Jaime Prevo; many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by brother, Jerry “Andy” Prevo; brothers-in-law, James Routly, Edward Hayden, William “Bill” Wolosonowich.
