ASPLUND, Leora Genevieve - Of Fenton, age 95, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 14176 Fenton Road in Fenton.
Reverend Kate Zywicki officiating.
Burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Transfiguration Lutheran Church.
Visitation 10am Tuesday at church until the time of the service.
Leora was born in Flint, Michigan on July 18, 1930, the daughter of Clarence and Lucy Hamp, and was a resident of Fenton since 1958. She married Clifford Asplund in June, 1949. Leora was a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church.
Surviving are children, Donna (Steve) Osterwyk, Deena (Randy) Ackley, David, and Darrin (Candice);
grandchildren, Carri (Ryan) Thomas and Kevin (Mandy) Jarrett, Jeremy (Elena) and Joshua (Ellie) Ackley and Carlie Asplund (Chase Jenkins) and Chad Asplund;
great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Remington;
great-great-granddaughter, Abigail;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; parents; brother, Wallace Hamp; and sisters, Bettie Borg, Edna Marshall and Kate Church.
