McCarty, Carol Sue – of Lapeer, age 73, passed away on June 14, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A luncheon will be provided following the service. Visitation will be 11 AM-2 PM and 4–7 PM Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 10 AM-12 PM before the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1922 Iowa Ave., Flint, MI 48506.
Carol was born in Vicksburg, Michigan on March 12, 1950, daughter of the late Albert and Martha (Crawford) Brown. She married Michael McCarty on September 7, 1974. Carol was a member of AA for 34 years where she mentored many women. She retired from GM in 1999 after 30 years of service. Carol liked being outside and enjoyed bird watching, camping, traveling and being on the water. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Chad (Kristine) McCarty, July Murphy, Daniel McCarty and Michael McCarty; grandchildren, Alex, Andie, Joey, Molli, Mason, Michael, Mia and Maxim; great-grandson, Wesley; sister, Bonnie Chambers; sister-in-law, Gail Brown; brothers-in-law, Gary (Esther) McCarty and Charles (Yvonne) McCarty; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by brother, Ronnie Brown; brother-in-law, Sam Chambers.
