Jon Robert Whelpley
Age 66 of New Lothrop passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at his home.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place with an informal gathering to take place at Moms house throughout the day on July 6, please stop in if you wish.
Jon was born on March 11, 1957 to Thomas and Pearl (Polak) Whelpley in Muskegon. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Union in California. He also worked as a long distance truck driver for over 5 years, most recently at Powell’s M57.
Jon was a person who truly enjoyed life. He loved hiking with his two German Shepard’s Savic and Princess, playing one of his many guitars and horsing around with his nieces and nephews. Jon lived in Prunedale California for over 40 years, but moved back home to New Lothrop in 2018 to care for his mother. Jon's family was very important to him as he was a part of all their lives and will be dearly missed.
Jon is survived by his mother, Pearl Whelpley; his sister, Susan (William) Vos; his brother, Patrick (Connie) Whelpley; and his nieces and nephews, Crystal, Amber, Nathan, Amy, Elizabeth, and Christine, and many grand nieces and nephews that will miss Jon greatly.
Jon is predeceased by his father, Thomas Whelpley and his two beloved German Shepard’s. |
