Robin Joel Bedard

Born: 11/2/1945
Died: 2/13/2026
Age: 80
Community: Grand Blanc, MI

Robin Bedard passed away peacefully at Regency of Grand Blanc, where he had been a resident for more than two years, on February 13, 2026. He was 80 years old.

Robin was born on November 2, 1945, in Alpena, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Bedard; his sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Jim Hartman; and his son-in-law, Timothy Melaragni.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra “Sandi” Bedard; his daughters, Dana Melaragni and Rebecca “Becki” Adkisson; his son-in-law, Mathew “Mat” Adkisson; four grandsons, Trevor Bedard and wife Ashley Bedard, Trenton Bedard, Dominic Melaragni, and Myles Adkisson; and one great-grandchild, Evelyn Bedard.

Robin and Sandi were married on June 27, 1967, in Alpena, Michigan. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was honorably discharged in January 1971. After his military service, Robin worked for General Motors for 35 years. He retired in 2007, settling into their dream retirement home in Ossineke, Michigan. Robin enjoyed a lifetime of hobbies, including hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding the birds, and playing cards with friends and family. A classic car enthusiast, he could identify the year, make, and model of nearly any car he saw. His favorite place to fish for walleye was Hubbard Lake, where he often paused to admire the beautiful sunsets. Those fishing trips supplied many memorable fish fries that he was proud to share with loved ones. Robin was never happier than when his home was filled with his favorite people—sharing laughter, stories, card games, and time together. Robin was a loving, affectionate, and generous man with a laugh that brought joy to everyone around him. He could talk to anyone and made friends wherever he went. His smile was contagious and brightened every room he entered.

The family extends a special thank-you to the many loving and dedicated staff members at Regency of Grand Blanc and Hospice of McLaren who cared for him as though he were family. Robin was deeply adored by both staff and residents, many of whom stopped by his room to share with his family how much he had touched their lives

A memorial service will be held 2pm Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
