SECORD, Lila - Of Flint, age 86, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at her residence.
A private funeral service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Pastor Glenn Tatterson officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8pm Monday, February 8, 2021 and 11am-1pm Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Lila was born in Onaway, Michigan on September 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Gutchak-Norris) Freiburger. On November 23, 1954, she married Donald K. Secord. Lila loved spending time with her family and especially on holidays. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her family particularly loved her homemade bread and pies. Lila enjoyed playing cards on Friday nights and she also loved sewing, especially making quilts. Lila looked forward every week going out to lunch and shopping with her daughters. She treasured traveling on trips with her daughter.
Surviving are children, Lila Mae (Greg) Fortner, Edward (Debbie) Secord, David Secord, Mark Secord and Rosemary Secord;
Grandchildren, Jennifer (Fred) Hiner, Nicole Cooper;
Great-grandchildren, Micaiah, Micah, Moriah, Jesse, Autumn, Saphira;
Sister, Margaret Borton;
Brothers, Robert Freiburger, Eugene Freiburger, Carl Freiburger, Leo Freiburger;
And Half-brother, Joe Scott.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Secord, step-father, Bob Scott, grandsons, Matthew McAuliffe, Steven Secord and Eddie Secord and son-in-law, Jack Pattee.
