METZ, GEORGE– Of Grand Blanc, age 95, died Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Father Leronio Vodivodi officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30am till the time of the Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
George was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 24, 1929, the son of the late Charles and Grace (Heynik) Metz.
He married Dorothy Schapel on May 10, 1952. He was a member of Holy Family Men's Club and the St. Joseph Guild. Mr. Metz was employed by General Motors for 27 years, retiring from AC Spark Plug Division on January 1, 1989.
Both Dorothy and George enjoyed traveling the world together for many years.
Surviving are wife, Dorothy;
3 children, Thomas;
Robert and wife Kit,
Patricia and husband David Krupa;
8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by, daughter in law Jane Metz, Brother Norbert Metz and sister Carol Bute.
