JONES, Susan J. (Murcko) – of Flint, age 91, passed away January 22, 2016 at Genesee Care Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Friday, January 29, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Visitation will be 2-8PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, with a Rosary being prayed at 6PM. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday at church. Burial will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Associates or the Alzheimer's Association.
Susan was born in Flint, MI on February 24, 1924, daughter of the late John and Susan (Menosky) Murcko. She married Ora Jones on February 14, 1942 in Flint and he preceded her in death in 1962. Susan was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She loved baking, cooking and sewing. Most of all Susan enjoyed supporting her grandchildren in all their endeavors and loved her family dearly. She worked at the Flint Journal for many years.
Susan is survived by her children, Carol (Jerry) Uhrig, Orrie (Becky) Jones, Jackie (Ron) Fulton; grandchildren, Sue (Jack), Jerry (Wendi), Shelley (Garnet), Todd (Jessica), Lorrie, Alyssa, Ryan; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Pauline McKie, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ora L. Jones; parents, John and Susan Murcko; daughter, Mary Lee (Chuck) McEachern; granddaughter, Theresa; six brothers; three sisters.
