The world lost a beloved mother and friend, Lucy Edith Hollow, on June 7, 2022. In her 89 years of life, Lucy showered those around her with kindness and love. Lucy was born near St. Patrick, Missouri on September 27, 1932, to Mary Margaret and Patrick Eugene Ellison. She later moved to Michigan where she married the late John C. Hollow. The couple raised their three girls in Clio, Michigan where Lucy was a substitute teacher for many years, and an active member of St. Charles and Helena Church. Lucy passed away peacefully surrounded by her girls Rose, Vicky and Cindy.
Lucy will be remembered as a kind, caring, and loving neighbor by those who knew her. She was always one to bake cookies, share a cup of tea, keep tabs on those she cared about, and offer help or advice in any way possible. Lucy was an avid reader, backyard bird watcher, and word puzzle queen. She was generous and gracious in all things.
Lucy is survived by her brother Francis (Nancy) Ellison and her sister Dorothy Cackley, her children Rose (James) Adams, Vicky Hollow, and Cindy (Tim) Morley, her grandchildren Jonathon (Callan) Morley, Elizabeth Morley, and Benjamin Adams, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and both of her parents.
Friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Lucy at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, MI on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 4PM until 8PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM, Monday evening, at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be held 11AM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at SS. Charles and Helena Church followed by a celebration of life in the parish center.
In lieu of flowers, donations to continue some of the good works supported by Lucy can be made to St. Luke’s New Life Center, SS. Charles and Helena Church, or Children’s Miracle Network. |
