Age 98, of Grand Blanc, was called home to the Lord on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020. Due to the unique circumstances of COVID-19, a private burial will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery. A Celebration of Frances' life will be held at a later date.
Frances was born on November 29, 1921, in Flint, to Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick and Ida Weckler.
On November 20, 1941, Frances married her high school sweetheart, James Cuthbertson.
Together, they shared almost 73 years of married life. Family was the center of Frances' life; she loved being a mother and created a home filled with love, warmth, and great food. In an age where women rarely worked outside the home, Frances was one of the earliest teachers for what became Flint's Community Education program. Frances studied baking and cake decorating under Mr. Wilton at The Wilton School in Chicago.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, James; their son Jimmy; daughter, Sally Smith; grandson, Mike Ford; sons-in-law, Doug Ford and Vince O'Keeffe; and her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Marge Weckler.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Ann Ford, Jane (Bob) Caine, and Peggy O'Keeffe; son-in-law, Chuck (Lynne) Smith; grandchildren, Jim (Kim) Ford, Matt (Deana) Ford, Keith (Michelle) Smith, Amy (Jeff) Blum, Ben Caine, and Courtney (John) Davidson. She was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Frances was fortunate to have two special nieces; Eileen Weckler (aka The Tall Sister) and Laura Jacobs. Frances' obituary was lovingly written by her family.
