ODEN, Richard C.– Of Burton, age 80, died Friday, July 29, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Heritage Baptist Church, 5199 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Pastor Chip Collins officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.
Richard was born in Cullman, Alabama on June 26, 1942, the son of the late Flonney Lora “Granny” Oden.
He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
He loved his family, his church family and to grow flowers on his property, which he was very gifted at.
Mr. Oden was employed by GM Truck Assembly for 30 years.
Surviving are 2 sons, Dave (Marietta) Nelson, James (Karen) Nelson;
5 grandchildren, Amber (Jeffrey) Okeson, Autumn (James) Probst, Josh Nelson, Zola Nelson and Ethan Nelson;
1 great-grandson, Lyndon Wilder Probst;
brother, Tom (Cindy) Oden;
sisters, Glenda Wix and Barbara (Larry) Melton;
too many special friends to mention.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zola Oden; daughter, Terri Sue Cherveny; sisters and brothers Margie Hunter, Norma Hendrix, Helen Thompson and Bob “Buddy” Oden.
