PETERS, James F. “Jim” – Of Burton, age 87, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Harmony Baptist Church, 5106 East Bristol Road, Burton, Pastor Jeff Glover officiating.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Visitation 3-7 p.m. Friday and 12- 2 p.m. Saturday at church.
James was born in Grafton, West Virginia on January 23, 1934, the son of the late John W. and Ada (Gawthrop) Peters.
He served as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army.
On July 19, 1980 he married Bettie J. Crawley in Flint.
Mr. Peters worked for GM Truck & Bus for close to 40 years.
He was a founding member of Harmony Baptist Church.
He was an avid deer hunter and wintered in Mission, Texas.
Surviving are wife, Bettie;
children, Daniel (Debbie) Peters and
Jimmie (Vicki) Crawley, Jr.;
grandchildren, Christina (Donald) Helka, Trey Peters, Victoria Peters, Felicia Jernigan, Vanessa (Nathan) Cull and Bethany Crawley;
10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Crawley; brothers, John and Raymond.
